William Sloan Associates is a diverse architecture firm with a breadth of experience in its over twenty five year history. Projects include private and public institutions, design for the arts, historic renovation and restorations, design for religious buildings, residential design, roofing/envelope design and sustainable design.
WILLIAM SLOAN, Principal, 1987 to present, 26 years
William “Chip” Sloan is Principal of William Sloan Associates, and designs projects for Education, Worship and the Arts; from historic renovations to new projects and sites. A designer of many performance spaces in the Boston area, his work includes The Center for Performing Arts in Wakefield, the Ruth Nagel Jones Theatre at Wellesley College, and the Pozen Performance Center at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Winner of the International Design Competition for Boston’s City Hall Plaza, and the Traditional Building Design Challenge, Mr. Sloan’s projects and competitions have been published in architectural journals worldwide.
JEFF WETZEL, Associate, 2006 to present, 7 years
Jeff Wetzel is an Associate with William Sloan Associates, who designs and manages projects for the arts, higher education, and infrastructure. Jeff’s background includes design for solar energy; at WSA Jeff manages higher education energy conservation and infrastructure projects, as well as historic building envelope renovations and restorations. With strong design skills, Jeff was a first place team
member in the 2009 Traditional Building Design Challenge, and has designed theater, religious, and residential projects, including Renovations to the President’s House and the Schneider Black Box Theatre at Wellesley College.
